Question: If I register am I allowed to sell screensaver or greetings I create or is this only allowed creating screensavers as freeware, also is there a profit fee etc? Answer: You can sell your screensavers and greetings. There are no limits for you. We made this program specially for using as you plan.Question: When I have made drop-dead-gorgeous screen savers with the registered version, will your name or other information be anywhere on it? Answer: You can remove the information about PY Software and place your own only if you purchase license for commercial use. A license for home use does not allow customizing screensaver's dialog boxes.Question: Will the registered version of Animated Screen allow me to change the referring URL in the properties dialogue box? I would rather have people come to my URLs. Answer: License for commercial use allows you to customize screensaver's dialog boxes and place your own URLs.Question: We want to make screensavers that we can give to customers with our advertising on them, but because the colors change on a 256-color display the result is not acceptable. We are using PhotoShop to create the images and are saving them using the windows 256-color palette. Would really like to know if you have a solution for this problem? Answer: The pictures are displayed with one palette in display mode 256 colors. If pictures and background have different palette, the animation will displayed not properly. You need to use one palette for all images and background. To convert all images into one 256 colors palette Select the Tools|Convert all images to 256 colors paletted... from the menu.Question: I want to put 10 photographs saved by *.gif to make a screen saver. I found 10 *.gif files are only 200k, but they saved as a *.scr about 900k? Why? Answer: The program stores images in BMP format, which does not compress the data. The GIF format uses compression and image's file becames smaler. For reduce size of screensaver please select the "Compress data" option or create screensaver distributive, which contains compressed data.Also you can reduce number of colors in the animation's images and it reduces size of animation.Question: I have created a quite large screensaver (SCD file is 30 Mbyte). When I preview the screensaver with F9 everything is OK, Timing is OK, picture is OK, everything really is OK. If I create a screensaver with this data, everything goes wrong. Pictures do not appear, fading effects do not work or work half (only 30% of the effect is shown). It seems that timing is totally corrupt. Answer: It can happen if you run a big screen saver and Animated Screen simultaneously and there is lack of system resources. Please run your screen saver when Animated Screen is closed.Question: If I run the program after a while I get a low on resource message. Answer: The program takes about %30 system resources. When it runs a screensaver with a lot of sprites, the system resources can be down to 18%. Another applications take system resources too. For instance Internet Explorer grabs up to 30% system resources. Graphic applications are very greedy to system resources. In this case to avoid lack of system resources try to minimize the number of applications that you run with Animated Screen simultaneously. Better decision is to run program under Windows NT or Windows 2000, because there is not the system resources problem under these operating systems.Question: I am using my own animation and I want it centered on the screen. How do I get the animation to the center of the screen? Answer: You can add fixed position with coordinates X=50%, Y=50% and set coordinates of relative point X=50%, Y=50%. With these settings the sprite always will be at the screen center.Question: At some times during working a panel for internet connection appeares. I don't know what happenes? Answer: It works an upgrade checking. It can inform you about new version of Animated Screen. |
